Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy and adverse reaction of docetaxel and pemetrexed as the second-line therapy of recurrent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Totally 68 patients diagnosed of recurrent NSCLC by pathology and cytology examination were randomly divided into two groups, with 34 cases in each group. The docetaxel group was given docetaxel and cisplatin; pemetrexed group was given pemetrexed and cisplatin.Clinical efficacy and adverse reactions after 2 cycles were evaluated. Results The total effective rate and disease control rate of pemetrexed group [32.4% (11/34),67.6% (23/34)] were significantly higher than those of docetaxel group [11.8% (4/34),41.2% (14/34)] ; granulocyte decrease and alopecia incidence in pemetrexed group were significantly less than those in docetaxel group (P < 0.05).Conclusion In the secondline therapy of recurrent NSCLC,pemetrexed is better than docetaxel, with few adverse reactions and good endurance of patients.
