Abstract:Objective To investigate the change and clinical value of cyclooxygenase-2(COX2), prostaglandin E2(PGE2)and phospholipases A2(PLA2)in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) combined with respiratory failure. Methods One hundred patients with AECOPD of hospital of Zhuozhou city from December 2011 to December 2012 were divided into respiratory failure group(n=50)and no respiratory failure group(n=50). Twenty patients with healthy control subjects were selected as control group. The levels of COX2, PGE2 and PLA2 of three groups were detected. Results The levels of blood COX2, PGE2 and PLA2 in respiratory failure group and no respiratory failure group were higher than those in healthy control group [(158±45),(132±12)μg/L vs (57±12)μg/L ;(317±213),(207±30)ng/L vs (103±18)ng/L;(28.2±1.5), (20.2±1.4)μg/L vs (7.0±2.4)μg/L], there were significant differences(P<0.05). There were significant differences on the levels of blood COX2, PGE2 and PLA2 in respiratory failure group when compared with that in no respiratory failure group (P<0.05). There was a positive relation among COX2, PGE2 and PLA2 in respiratory failure group (r=0.406, 0.356,P<0.05); and there was a positive relation between COX2 and PGE2 (r=0.848, P<0.01). Conclusion The levels of COX2, PGE2 and PLA2 of respiratory failure group are significantly increased and have influence on respiratory failure.
