Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of triamcinolone acetonide and gentamicin for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(OA).Methods Forty-eight OA patients were randomly divided into two groups, with 24 patients in each group,to receive intracavitary injection of triamcinolone acetonide and gentamicin(group B) or sodium hyaluronate(group A).The VAS were used to compared the therapeutic effect before the treatment with after the treatment 4,8,12 weeks. Results The VAS of patients in two groups decreased significantly after treatment (P < 0.01),The VAS showed significant statistic difference between group A and group B (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01) after the treatment 8,12 weeks. The knee joint function showed significant statistic difference between group A and group B (P < 0.05).No obvious side effects were observed in all patients. Conclusion Triamcinolone acetonide and gentamicin injected intracavitary can effectively relieve the joint pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis and improve the joint movable degree, with satisfied clinical therapeutic effect, low cost and no obvious side effects.
