Clinical analysis on the treatment for varicose veins of lower limbs by endovenous laser treatment combined with surgery

Abstract：Objective To observe the therapeutic effects for varicose veins of lower limbs by endovenous laser treatment(EVLT) combined with surgery.Methods One hundred and thirty-five patients with varicose veins of lower limbs who had a total of 168 diseases lower limbs underwent EVLT or EVLT combination with operation.Four main strategies were involved:simple EVLT,EVLT combined with high ligation of great saphenous vein,EVLT combined with external banding valvuloplasty of superficial femoral vein and high ligation of great saphenous vein,EVLT combined with high ligation of great saphenous vein and ligation of communication vein and varicose veins mass resection in the calf.Results All patients.were followed up for 1-18 months with satisfactory results.135 patients showed no recurrence and no clinical symptom or signs.The ultrasound showed great saphenous vein was blunt and no blood flow,and deep vein was normal.Conclusions The merits of EVLT include small wound,security,simple operation and satisfactory effect.Its indications can be expanded and better results can be achieved by combining EVLT with surgical treatment.
