Comparison of Relinqing granules and Paishi granules for the management to ureteral calculi after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy

Abstract：Objective To compare the efficacy of Relinqing granules and Paishi granules for enhancing expulsion of ureteral calculi after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL).Methods 206 patients after ESWL were randomly divided into 3 groups.The patients in control group received no Chinese medicine.The patients in Relinqing group received Relinqing granules (4g,tid).The Patients in Paishi granules group received Paishi granules (5g,tid).All patients were observed for one month.Results The rate of calculi clearance in Relinqing group was 94.3％,that was not significamly different from the rate in Paishi granules group (P ＞ 0.05).But the clearance rate in these two groups was significantly higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).But,the clearance rate of 3 days and 7 days after ESWL in Relinqing group was was significantly higher than that in the Paishi group and the control group (P ＜ 0.05).The rate of renal colic recurred in Relinqing group was 7.1％,in Paishi granules group was 18.6％,in control group was 36.7％,with significant difference between the groups.Conclusion The Relinqing granules and the Paishi granules both can significantly improve the stone expulsion rate and decrease the rate of renal colic recurred after ESWL.In these efficiencies,the Relinqing granules are better than the Paishi granules.
