Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of high-flue hemodiafiltration(HFD) on inflammatory mediators and cardiac structure and function in end-stage renal disease(ESRD) patients, and to provide data for clinical. Methods The study involved fifty maintenance hemodialysis patients which randomly assigned to HFD group or conventional hemodialysis (HD) group. Before and after 6,12 months of the treatment, the cardiac structure and function parameters by echocardiogram, and the clinic parameters were determined. Results For the patients in HD group after 6,12 months treatment, there were no significant changes in all the parameters(P >0.05).For the patients in HFD group after 6,12 months treatment, the clinic parameters of Hb [Hb:(99 ± 11),(109 ± 9) g/L vs (86±11) g/L],Alb[(39±7),(44±37) g/Lvs (33±9) g/L],CRP[(8±3),(7±3) mg/Lvs (11±4) rmg/L],IL-6[(103 ± 18) rng/L,(87 ± 13) ng/L vs (124 ±30) ng/L],TNF-α[(73 ± 16),(58 ±20) ng/L vs (91 ±24) ng/L],MAP [(108 ± 10),(102 ± 11)mm Hg vs (118 ± 13) mm Hg] and the parameters cardiac structure and function of LVDd[(51 ±7),(48 ±6)mm vs (56 ±7)mm] was markedly improved (P<0.05).Conclusions High flux hemodialysis may alleviate the damage to inflammatory mediators and left ventricular structure and function in ESRD patients.
