Abstract:Objective To discuss the relationship of the levels of 1-h plasma glucose (1 h PG) in oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and islet β-cell function. Methods 354 out-patients with increasing plasma glucose levels, but not to type 2 diabetes diagnosis standard were divided into normal glucose tolerance (NGT) group (74 cases),impaired fasting glucose (IFG) group (43 cases),impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) group (54 cases),combined glucose intolerance (GGI) group (47 cases) and DM group (136 cases).According the results of the levels of 1 h PG in receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) which diagnosed impaired glucose regulation(IGR) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were classified into 1 h-NGT group,1 h-IGR group and 1 h-DM group; respectively calculated the results of HOMA-IR,HOMA-β,△I0-30,△I0-30/G0-30,and compared with the standard group of WHO.Results ①In accordance with 1 h-NGT,1 h-IGR and 1 h-DM order, the results of HOMA-β (21 ± 12,18 ±7,16 ±9),△I0-30/G0-30(0.55 ± 1.37,0.33 ±0.19,0.26 ±0.14) gradually reduced, the results of HOMA-IR(0.55 ± 0.16,0.63 ± 0.19,0.75 ± 0.24) gradually raised, the difference compared with groups was significantly (P < 0.05).②There had a good correlation with 1 h PG and several indexes (r =-0.292,-0.168,0.113,0.418,P < 0.05).Conclusions 1 h PG can well responsed the function of islet β-cell.It is an important index in plasma glucose classification and a beneficial supplement to the WHO standard.
