Clinical analysis of 480 cases older retreatment smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis

Abstract：Objective To explore clinical therapeutic effect of the elderly smear positive tuberculosis.Methods 798 cases of retreatment smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis were chosen from February 2003 to January 2011,depending on the age were divided into the older group and non-older group,treatment effect of anti-tuberculosis according to the results of drug sensitivity test were analyzed.Results The cure rate in the older group and non-older group were 85.6％ (411/480),93.5％ (297/318) respectively.The difference was statistically significant (x2 =17.32,P ＜ 0.05) ; fatality rates of two groups were 5.2％ (25/480),0.9％ (3/318),the difference was statistically significant (x2 =21.54,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Elderly smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis incidence increase year by year;do drug sensitivity test,develop individual chemotherapy regimens,total course of a non elderly group is extended for 3 months,supervision in the process of chemotherapy,can improve the cure rate of the elderly smear positive tuberculosis.
