Effects of initiative movement intervention at different time for binocular diplopia patients after cerebral infarction

Abstract:Objective To compare the different effects of initiative movement intervention at different timepoints for binocular diplopia patients after cerebral infarction.Methods Forty binocular diplopia patients after cerebral infarction were divided into two groups.Observation group included twenty-four cases who were in hospital since the symptoms emerge within five days.They began to do initiative movement video subjects practice when they accepted the conventional treatment.Sixteen cases who went to hospitals more than five days after thesymptoms emerge were as control group.They began to do initiative movement video subjects practice when they accepted the conventional treatment.After doing initiative movement video subjects practice with conventional treatment for ten days,the rehabilitations of the two group were compared.Results The diplopia recovery rate in observation group was 95.8% (23/24) and the diplopia recovery rate in control group was 62.5% (10/16) ; the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion Initiative movement intervention in the rehabilitation of the cerebral infarction patients after binocular diplopia has better effect within five days than five days later.
