Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between bone metastasis and the serum levels of total alkaline phosphatase (tALP) and bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (bALP) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods Thirty cases with NSCLC and 30 cases with non-bone metastasis were selected in our hospital from September 2009 to September 2011.The serum level of tALP and bALP were detected using enzyme immunofluorescence and electrochemiluminescence. Results The levels of serum tALP and bALP in patients of bone metastasis with NSCLC were higher than those without bone metastasis [(158 ± 13) U/L vs (69 ± 12) U/L,(34 ± 7) μg/L vs (12 ± 4) μg/L] (all P < 0.05).Sensitivity and specificity of elevated serum tALP levels on diagnosis of bone metastases of NSCLC was 63.3%,70.0%,respectively; sensitivity and specificity of elevated serum bALP on diagnosis of bone metastases was 86.7%,83.3%,respectively.Conclusion The levels of tALP and bALP have important diagnostic value in NSCLC with bone metastasis.
