Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of different concentrations of saline combined with salbutamol in the treatment of infectious bronchiolitis. Methods Forty-eight cases of mild to infectious bronchiolitis were divided into two groups. The infants received inhalation of 2.5 mg (0.5 ml) salbutamol was dissolved in either 4 ml normal (0.9 %) saline (control group,n =24) or 4 ml hypertonie (10%) saline (observation group,n =24).Patients in each group received 3 treatments every day.Cough, wheezing, pulmonary physical signs and the length of hospital stay were recorded and compared. Results The severity of the disease remission time averaged of the observation group was (1.8 ± 1.2) d; control group was (3.2 ± 1.8) d; the total efficiency of the observation group was 91.7% (22/24) ; control group was 79.1% (19/24) ; the observation group was significantly superior to the control group and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion Inhalation of hypertonie saline solution and salbutamolis is a safe and effective therapy treating patients with infectious bronchiolitis.
