Abstract:Objective To reveal the relationship between vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene rs7975232 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and lung cancer risk in Chinese Han population. Methods A total of 72 patients with lung cancer and 67 healthy controls were in this study.SNP loci were detected by direct sequencing, sequencing by ABI3700XL Genetic Analyzer. Results VDR gene rs7975232 locus allele A carriers risk of lung cancer was significandy lower than the C allele carriers [odds ratio (OR) =0.501,95% confidence interval (CI) =0.273-0.920,P =0.026].rs7975232 locus may be associated with squamous cell carcinoma [allele ratio:P =0.027,0R =0.274,95% CI(O.087-0.861) ; dominant gene model:P =0.045,OR =0.269,95% CI(0.074-0.971)].Conclusion VDR gene the rs7975232 locus is related to lung cancer pathogenesis.
