Effects of Xuezhikang on plasma matrix metalloproteinase 9 and tumor necrosis factor α in patients with unstable angina pectoris
Abstract：Objective To explore the anti-infammatory and antioxidation effect of Xuezhikang on patients with unstable angina pectoris control group (40 cases).Methods Plasma matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α) were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) 4 weeks before and after oral administration of xuezhikang in 60 patients with unstable angina pectoris and control group (40 cases).Results The levels of plasma MMP-9,TNF-α [(24 ± 6) mg/L,(22 ± 4) μg/L] in patients with UAP group were significantly increased compared with those of control group [(20 ± 6) mg/L,(16 ± 4) μg/L] (P ＜ 0.01).A significant decreased plasma MMP-9,TNF-α were observed 4 weeks after Xuezhikang-taken[(21 ± 6)mg/L vs (24 ±6] mg/L,(19 ± 4) μg/L vs (22 ± 4) μg/L] (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Xuezhikang can have good anti-inflammatory and antioxidation and good prognosis in patients with unstable andgina pectoris.
