Clinical analysis of intralobar pulmonary sequestration

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical features,diagnosis and treatment of intralobar pulmonary sequestration.Methods The clinical data of twenty-two patients with intralobar pulmonary sequestration from 1985 to 2012 were reviewed.Results Totally 22 patients with intralobar pulmonary sequestration were operated and were pathologically confirmed.The pulmonary sequestration was in left lower lobe in 16 cases and right lower lobe in 6 cases.All cases were in base segment.Twenty-one cases received lobectomy and one case received exision of segment.All cases were cured.Follow-up was performed in 6 patients and no long-term complication was noted.Conclusions CT angiography is sufficiently suggestive of diagnosis of intralobar pulmonary sequestration.Resection of the lung leads to excellent results.
