Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of the three puncture ways of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),via radial, brachial or femoral artery,on the comfort of patients. Methods Sixty-five patients treated with PCI were observed:31 via radial artery,26 via femoral artery and 8 via brachial artery. The comfort of patients was evaluated using the incidence of adverse events including anxiety, urinary retention, lower back discomfort, blood circulation disorders, the surgery limb pain and vasovagal reflex. Results The number and incidence of adverse events including anxiety, urinary retention, lower back discomfort, blood circulation disorders, the surgery limb pain and vasovagal reflex were 25 (96.2%),21 (80.8%),25 (96.2%),8 (30.8%),7 (26.9%),11(42.3%) in femoral artery group; 10(32.3%),0(0.0),0(0.0),2(6.5%),3(9.7%),1 (3.2%) in radial artery group; and 4(50.0%),1 (12.5%),0(0.0),1 (12.5%),0(0.0),1 (12.5%) in brachial artery group. Conclusion Compared to femoral, radial and brachial artery punctures make patient comfort while reducing nursing workload.
