Abstract:Objective To investigate prevalence and influential factors of depression in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods All 121 patients from January 2011 to January 2012 were collected. All the subjects were assessed with hospital anxiety and depression scale. The incidences of anxiety, depression and comparative analysis influencing factors were evaluated. Results Of 121 subjects,44 patients(36.4%)were identified as anxiety,45 patients (37.2%) as depression. The glycosylated hemoglobin of patients with depression disorders, the ratio of depression disorders patients with medical reimbursement ≤40% and the ratio of depression disorders patients with left ventricular ejection fraction < 50% were higher than those of nondepression disorders patients [(7.9 ± 1.9) % vs (7.1 ± 1.8) %,45.5 % (20/45) vs 20.8 (16/76),28.9% (13/45) vs 7.9% (6/76),P < 0.05 or P < 0.01].Patients of ACS and type 2 diabetes mellitus with depressive symptom were more seen in medical reimbursement≤40%,left ventricular ejection fraction < 50%,and higher glycosylated hemoglobin patients[odds ratio (OR) 4.596,95% confidence interval (CI) 1.806-11.698 ; OR 6.319,95%CI 1.831-21.810 ; OR 1.352,95% CI 1.064-1.719,respectively; P < 0.05 or P < 0.01].Conclusions The incidence of depression disorders of patients with ACS and type 2 diabetes mellitus is high.Mental intervention should be taken early in order to improve prognosis.
