Insulinomas:case report and literature review

Abstract：Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics and explore the diagnosis and treatment method of insulinomas.Methods One patient with insulinoma was retrospectively analyzed.The domestic and abroad records about insulinomas were used for analyzing the diagnostic and treatment methods.Results The patients with insulinomas was accompanied with typical Whipple triad syndrome.The blood glucose was 1.9-3.6 mmol/L.The release index of insulin was more than 0.3.The ultrasound in abdomen showed hypoechoic nodules in the pancreas,and the CT showed pancreatic lesion.The nodule was 2.1 cm × 1.0 cm in pancreas body.Conclusions The typical clinical presentation,ultrasonography and thin slice CT scanning,combined with the serum insulin level are the effective measures for the diagnosis of insulinoma.And the surgery is the only curative option for insulinoma patients.
