Abstract:Objective To evaluate the situation of hypertension control, and the factors associated with the rate of hypertension control of chronic heart failure patients with hypertension. Methods The data of patients with chronic heart failure and hypertension were collected. Results All 688 patients with chronic heart failure and hypertension were collected. In baseline, the hypertension rate was 60.2% (414 cases),and 462 cases (67.2%)were followed up for more than 6 months.Hypertension rates for baseline, the third month and the sixth month were 60.2% (414/688),68.4% (457/668) and 71.4% (330/462),respectively.There was no significant difference (x2 =0.168,P =0.43).Among hypertension patients whose blood pressure was stabilized in baseline, hypertension control rates for the third month and the sixth month were 72.5% (300 cases),71.0% (294 cases),respectively, and there was no significant difference (x2 =2.8,P =0.09).The patients of blood pressure stabilized over 6 months compared with the others. The percentage of taking medicine was 95.5% (274/287) and 97.7% (171/175),and there was no significant difference (x2 =2.89,P =0.089).The percentage of physical activity, decreasing salt intake, weight control were markedly higher in the patients whose blood pressure were controlled well over 6 month[57.8% (166/287) vs 36.0% (63/175),74.2% (213/287) vs 51.4% (90/175),28.0% (21/75) vs 21.4% (31/145),respectively,all P < 0.01].Conclusions The blood pressure is better controlled in the patients with heart failure and hypertension who visit the doctor frequently.Diabetes is the important factor, which decrease the control rate of blood pressure.Physical activity, decreasing salt intake, weight control are the good measurement to control the blood pressure.Once the blood pressure become stabilized, the patients should be followed up properly every 3-6 months.
