Abstract:Objective To discuss the safety and effect of first generation cephalosporin with single dose for patients of elective cesarean section without potential infection risk factors. Methods All 150 cases who underwent elective cesarean delivery and no potentially infectious risk factors from September 2011 to February 2012 were completely randomly divided into observation group and control group. After cutting umbilical cord, cefazolin sodium for 2 g was dissolved in glucose solution for 250-100 ml,and was administrated intravenously with single dose in 20-30 min in observation group. The drug and dose of control group during operation was same as observation group, and cefazolin sodium for 2 g (two times each day) after operation was administrated intravenously. Results The dose of antibacterial drugs in observation group was lower than that in control group[(2.00 ± 0.11) g vs (12.00 ±0.64)g,P < 0.05],while white blood cell count, mean postoperative body temperature, postoperative hospitalization time and the rate of incision of abdominal wall had no statistical difference between observation group and control group [(9.2 ± 1.5) × 109/L vs (9.0 ± 1.4) × 109/L,(37.13 ± 0.15) ℃ vs (37.16 ± 0.13) ℃,(7.0 ± 0.3) d vs (7.0 ± 0.4) d,100.0% (75/75) vs 100.0% (75/75),all P > 0.05].The puerperalism rates between observation group and control group were not statistically different (P > 0.05).Conclusion First generation cephalosporin with single dose during perioperative period for patients of elective cesarean section without potential infection risk factors is safe and effective.
