Application value of hyperbaric oxygen to prevent postoperative necrosis of skin flap in the treatment of calcaneus fractures

Abstract：Objective To study the function of hyperbaric oxygen in prevention skin flap from postoperative necrosis in the treatment of calcaneus fractures.Methhds From January 2005 to July 2010,we observed the postoperative incision healing of 210 cases suffering from calcaneus fractures under the condition of hyperbaric oxygen and no hyperbaric oxygen.Results Of the 142 patients received hyperbaric oxygen,12 cases occurred necrosis of skin flap,accounting for 8.5％.There were 13 cases occurred necrosis of skin flap in the 68 patients received no hyperbaric oxygen.There was significant statistical difference between two groups(P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen treatment can significantly promote postoperative incision healing in the treatment of calcaneus fractures.
