Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between the changes of electroencephalogram(EEG),protein 14-3-3 and clinical manifestations of sporadic creutzfeld-jakob disease(sCJD).Methods Medical records of 20 patients with sCJD were analyzed retrospectively, then they were divided into EEG group(EEG positive,8 cases),protin 14-3-3 group(protein 14-3-3 positive,10 cases)and the mixed group(EEG and protin 14-3-3positive,2 cases) according to the EEG and 14-3-3 protein in cerebrospinal fluid positivity. Results The constituent type of clinical manifestations in mixed group was not more than in EEG group and protein 14-3-3 group (x2 =0.525,P < 0.05).The typical EEG changes were associated with myoclonus and akinetic mutism(r =0.667,0.802,P < 0.05),and the EEG changes were not associated with pyramidal, extrapyramidal disfunction and visual or cerebellar disturbance(r =-0.357,-0.257,all P > 0.05).The positive protein 14-3-3 of cerebrospinal was associated with pyramidal and extrapyramidal disfunction(r =0.655,P < 0.05),but was not associated with myoclonus, akinetic mutism and visual or cerebellar(r =0.408,-0.218 and-0.314,P < 0.05).Conclusions In patients with sCJD,the positive protein 14-3-3 of cerebrospinal is associated with pyramidal or extrapyramidal disfunction, and the typical EEG changes are associated with myoclonus and akinetic mutism.
