Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes of heart rate variability (HRV)and the relationship between HRV and retinopathy in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods One hundred and ninety type 2 diabetic patients (78 patients without retinopathy,62 patients with simple diabetic retinopathy and 50 patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy )admitted to Beijing Friendship Hospital from Feb.2010 to Feb.2011 were included in our study. The parameters of HRV were evaluated by 24-hours dynamic electrocardiogram. Results Patients without retinopathy:SDNN:(125±30 );SDANN:(114±27 );SDNNI:(49±9 );RMSSD:(30±9 );PNN50:(6±4);LF/HF:(2.7±1.7 );patients with simple diabetic retinopathy:SDNN:(112±26 );SDANN:(103±24);SDNNI:(44±11 );RMSSD:(24±13 );PNNS0:(4±4 );LF/HF:(2.7±1.6 );patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy:SDNN:(92±22);SDANN:(82±22 );SDNNI:(33±9 );RMSSD:(19±10 );PNN50:(2±3);LF/HF:(2.6±1.7);The SDNN,SDANN,SDNNI,RMSSD,PNN50 in patients with SDR were much lower than that of the patients without retinopathy (P<0.05 ).The SDNN,SDANN,SDNNI,RMSSD,PNN50 in patients with PDR were lower than those in patients with SDR and the patients without retinopathy (P<0.05 ).Conclusion HRV decrease for retinopathy in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus.
