Pharmaceutical care of oxaliplatin combined chemotherapy in the treatment of colorectal cancer

Abstract:Objective To observe the entry point and effect of the pharmaceutical care of oxaliplatin combined chemotherapy in the treatment of colorectal cancer.Methods All 40 cases with colorectal cancer in our hospital from March to October 2011 treated with oxaliplatin combined with calcium folinate/5-fluorouracil were received early pharmaceutical care.The toxic and adverse effects were observed.Results Of 40 cases with colorectal cancer,neurotoxicity happened in 31 cases(77.5%),and grade Ⅰ was in 16 cases,grade Ⅱ in 14 cases,grade Ⅲ in 1 case:18 cases(45.0%)undertook nausea and vomiting,and grade Ⅰ in 14 cases,grade Ⅱ 4 cases; 15 cases (37.5%)showed diarrhea,and grade Ⅰ in 10 cases,grade Ⅱ in 5 cases; hematotoxicity was in 8 cases (20.0%),and grade 1 had 7 cases,grade Ⅱ in 1 case; 9 cases(22.5%)undertook oral mucosal inflammation,which were grade Ⅰ.No grade Ⅳ toxicity reaction occurred.Conclusion During oxaliplatin chemotherapy,timely pharmaceutical care is applied to reduce the drug impairment and to improve the survival quality of the patients.
