Analysis of short-term efficaay of pemetrexed combined with cisplatin as a first-line treatment in non-amall cell lung

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the short-term efficacy and side effects of pemetrexed combined with cisplatin as first-line treatment in non-small cell lung cancer.Methods A total of thirty-five chemotherapy-navie patients who had been confirmed with pathology or cytology were enrolled.Chemotherapy strategy:pemetrexed 500 mg/m2 on day 1 and cisplatin 72 mg/m2 on day 1 by intravenous infusion,with 21 days as one cycle.All patients who received 2 or more cycles were evaluated.Results There were no cases with complete response.15 cases had partial response,15 cases had stable disease and 5 cases had progressive disease.The response rate was 43% and the disease control rate was 86%.The common side effects were Grade [Ⅰ/Ⅱ gastrointestinal response and hematologic toxicity.Conclusion Pemetrexed combined with cisplatin is effective and well-tolerated as first-line treatment in non-small cell lung cancer in the short-time,and should be considered as an option for non-small cell lung cancer.
