Abstract:Objective To investigate the characteristics of heart rate variability and its clinical significance in different gender patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods One hundred and nine cases of type 2 diabetes patients were divided into female group(56 cases) and malegroup (53 cases).24 h ambulatory electrocardiogram[ including percentage of R-R intervals differing > 50 ms ( PNN50),standard deviation of normal to normal intervals( SDNN),rate mean square of the differences of successive RR intervals(RMSSD) and standard deviation of average all normal-normal intervals( SDANN),adjacent the difference between the R-R interval standard deviation (SDSD) ] ] of both group were observed. Results pNN50,SDNN,SDANN,SDSD of Male patients was significantly higher than those of the female group[ ( 18 ± 10) % vs ( 1 1 ± 8) %,( 164 ± 28 ) ms vs (710 ± 10 ) ms,( 148 ± 11 ) ms vs ( 60 ± 4) ms,( 119 ± 25 ) ms vs (49 ± 14 ) ms,respectively ].There were no significant differences in rMSSD between two groups[ (111 ± 23 )ms vs (73 ± 30)ms,P > 0.05 ].Conclusion There are unbalanced the autonomic nervous system functions in different gender patients with type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus.
