Adverse drug reactions: analysis of 392 cases

Abstract:Objective To investigate the characteristics and regularities of the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) occurred in Lu'an People's Hospital; to provide a reference for the clinical use of drugs.Methods Three hundred and ninety-two integrate ADR cases (with complete information,analysis and evaluation) from January 2008 to December 2010 were analyzed statistically.Results Of the 392 cases,277 cases(70.7% ) had intravenous drip infusion.Antimicrobials took the lead with 138 cases (35.2%).Traditional Chinese medicine injections,regulating water and electrolyte and nutritional medicine were second and third respectively.The ADRs manifested mainly as lesions of skin ( 184 cases,46.9% ),followed by gastrointestintesttract reactions (70 cases,17.9% ).Conclusion It is necessary to intensify ADR monitoring and reporting to reduce or avoid adverse reactions.
