Stability and compatibility of cefuroxime sodium injection and lornoxicam

Abstract：Objective To study the the stability and compatibility of cefuroxime sodium injection with lornoxicam in 0.9％ sodium chloride injection.Methods At room temperature(25 ± 1 ) ℃,the changes in contents of cefuroxime sodium and lornoxicam were determined simultaneously by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the changes in appearance plus pH value were observed within 8 hours.Results No significant differences were found in the contents of lornoxicam for the mixed solution within 8 hours.The pH value fell off and the colour gradually deepened as time goes on.The relative percentage of cefumxime sodium droped to below 95％after 5 h.Conclusion The mixture of cefuroxime sodium injection with lomoxicam in 0.9％ sodium chloride injection at ambient temperature is stable within 4 hours.
