Effects of combination of lipoic acid, epalrestat and Novomix 30 on diabetic perineuropathy patients

Abstract：Objective To observe the effects of lipoic acid,epalrestat and Novomix30 on diabetic perineuropathy patients.Methods Totally 110 diabetic perineuropathy patients were divided into experimental group and control group with 55 cases in each group,based on the treatment of Novomix30.Experimental group was given lipoic acid,600 mg per day and Epalrestat 50 mg three times a day.The treatment lasted for 4 weeks.Neurological symptom score ( NSS),michigan diabetic neuropathy score ( MDNS),motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity(SNCV) in two groups before and after treatment were observed.Results Total efficiency (94.4％ )in experimental group was higher than that in control group(67.3 ％ ).Mter treatment the NSS and MDNS were significantly decreased in two groups than before treatment ( P ＜ 0.05 ) ; there were significantly difference between experimental group[ (3.1 ± 1.1 ),(5.5 ± 1.2) ] and control group [ (5.2 ± 1.3 ),(7.9 ± 1.4) ] after treatment(P ＜ 0.05).The MNCV,SNCV of median nerve and common peroneal nerve were significantly increased in two groups after treatment( P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01 ) [ median nerve:MNCV (49.2 ± 3.6 ) m/s,SNCV (49.3 ± 3.7 ) m/s,common peroneal nerve:MNCV(48.8 ± 3.1 ) m/s,SNCV (45.7 ± 3.2 ) m/s ] than control group [ ( 43.2 ± 3.9 ),(42.6 ±2.7)m/s] ; (42.0 ±2.8),(41.3 ±3.4) m/s,respectively].Conclusion Combination of Lipoic acid,epalrestat and Novomix30 can improve the clinic treatment effect on diabetic perineuropathy patients.
