Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of combined testing of carbohydrate antigen(CA)72-4,CA19-9 and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) in gastric cancer. Methods The gastric juice and serum levels of CA72-4,CA19-9 and CEA in 64 cases of al1stages of gastric cancer and 40 cases of benign gastric disorders were determined preoperatively using IRMA method. Results The results showed that the gastric juice, serum levels and the sensitivity rates of CA72-4,CA19-9 and CEA were significantly higher in the gastric cancer group than in the benign gastric disorders group. The gastric juice levels of CA72-4,CA19-9 and CEA were also higher than the serum levels in the gastric cancer group[ (60.4 ±23.5) μg/L vs (13.8 ±3.2) μg/L,(524.4 ±284.6) μg/L vs (97.3 ±67.3 ) μg/L,( 16.8 ± 7.8 ) μg/L vs ( 5.3 ± 8.3 ) μg/L ].The sensitivity rate of combining assay of gastric juice CA19-9,serum CA19-9 and serum CA72-4 was 78.13%.The gastric juice and serum levels of CA72-4,CA19-9 and sensitivity in progressive and late stage of gastric cancer were higher than those in early stage. Conclusion The reasonable preoperative combining test might be of high value for early diagnosis, predicting the diffusion and metastasis, improving the therapeutic effect and prognosis for gastric cancer.
