Abstract:Objective To discuss the safety and efficiency of color ultrasound guided standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with min-percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the one-stage treatment of staghorn renal calculi. Methods Eighty-two patients with stag horn renal calculi were treated by color ultrasound guided standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with min-percutaneous nephrolithotomy from August 2007 to January 2010.Results The operations of all 82 patients were successful. The operation time ranged from 45 to 190minutes (mean, 85 minutes), the blood loss ranged from 50 to 400ml (mean,95ml) and the post-operation hospital stay ranged from 6 to 12 days( mean ,7.5 days). The clearance rate of stone in one stage was 90.2% ( 74/82), 82 patients were followed up for 3 months and only one stone was found by color uhrasonography. Conclusion Color ultrasound guided standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with min-percutaneous ephrolithotomy in the onestage treatment of staghorn renal calculi has the advantages of minimal invasion, high stone clearance rate, high efficiency few complication and safety.
