Abstract:Objective To analyze the influence and clinical significance of hepatic artery chemoembolization combined with radiotherapy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods The 60 patients with advanced HCC( all the imaging, TACE patients without distant metastasis) patients of the cancer hospital in Liaocheng city were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into control group and study group. Control group was treated with transcatheterarterialchemoembolization (TACE) one time every 4 weeks, each 4 weeks as a course of treatment. Study group was treated with TACE 3 times, one time each four weeks, after 3rd TACE, the patients were given radiation therapy. Determination of the:alpha-fetal protein (AFP) of peripheral blood and the imaging studies before and after treatment in patients were done. Results Rate of decline AFP in study group and in control group had no statistical differences. The survival rate of 1,2,3years in study group was 86.7% (26/30), 60.0%(18/30) and 40.0% (12/30) and in control group it was 80.0% ( 24/30 ) ,40.0% ( 12/30 ), 23.3% ( 7/30 ) , respectively. Conclusion The short and long term effects of TACE combined with radiotherapy for HCC is better than those TACE.
