Symptom checklist 90 of the patients with intractable epilepsy

Abstract:Objective To study the mental health in the patients with intractable epilepsy. Methods Totally 40 adult patients with middle school level or above, no mental deficiency, were tested with symptom checklist 90 scale. Results The patients with intractable epilepsy associated with different degrees of mental problems including somatization, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety and hostility. The factor scores of refractory epilepsy were higher than those of normal adult. The differences were significant (P< 0.05). Conclusion The intractable epilepsy patient's psychological health is significantly lower than the normal people.
