Study on cervical nodes with fine needle aspiration cytology

Abstract:Objective To investigate the features of cervical nodes with fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC)and to improvement the diagnosis of FNAC.Methods Totally 69 cases of cervical nodes with FNAC were reviewed,including cell smears,clinical data and pathological biopsy.Results There were 26 cases of pyogenic lymph nodes with tuberculosis(TB),3 cases of cat-scratch disease,4 cases of necrotizing lymphadenitis of histiocytes,12 cases of transferred thyroid follicular papillary carcinoma,2 cases of transferred small cell carcinoma of esophagus,2 cases of Hodgkin lymphoma,1 case of transferred trachea sarcomatoid carcinoma and 1 case of transferred keratotic squamous cell carcinoma.Conclusions FNAC of cervical nodes is a simple and effective diagnosis method.The reason of misdiagnosis and miss.diagnosis iS few effective tissues.poor quality slices and uncombined clinical manifestations.The prerequisite of accurate diagnosis is to deal with every stage of puncturing,smearing,staining and diagnosis.Combination of clinical data and follow-up can help enhance the diagnostic level.
