Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of chronic bronchitis on ischemic leukoaraiosis(LA)in eldly patients. Methods Ischemic LA group with 70 cases was studied. The 70 cases diagnosed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were divided into two groups with ischemic LA and chronic bronchitis(30 cases)and ischemic LA(40 cases). Each group Was graded for LA imaging, and divided into mild white matter damage group, moderate white matter damage group and severe white matter damage group. Results The eldly patients with ischemic LA and chronic bronchitis were significantly associated with severity of ischemic LA.The mild damage group had 16 cases(40%)and moderate damage group had 17 eases(42.5%)in eldly patients with ischemic LA.The mild damage group had 5 cases(16.7%)and moderate damage group have 6 cases(20%)in eldly patients with ischemic LA and chronic bronchitis. The differences between two groups were statistically significant(χ2=4.3356,3.9339,P<0.05).The severe damage group have 7 cases(17.5%)in eldly patients with ischemic LA;The severe damage group have 19 cases(63.3%)in eldly patients with ischemic LA and chronic bronchitis; The differences between two severe groups were statistically significant(χ2=15.4247,P<0.05).A single-factor analysis showed that related risk factors were not statistically significant (P>0.05)for eldly patients with ischemic LA.Conclusion Chronic bronchitis is an independent risk factor for eldly patients with ischemic LA.
