Effect of Shuxuening injection on cerebral embolism

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Shuxuening injection on cerebral embolism. Methods One hundred and six cases with cerebral embolism were randomly divided into treatment group( n =53 ) and control group ( n = 53 ). The control group was treated with routine method, and the treatment group were given Shuxuening injection additionally. The neurological function and hemorheological indices were investigated after a period of 4 weeks. Results The overall response rate in the two groups was 73.6% and 52.8%, respectively ( P ＜ 0.05 ).The neurologic impairment score was obviously lowered in both two groups ( P ＜ 0.05 ), but the treatment group had more significant changes ( P ＜ 0.05 ). In both two groups the whole blood viscosity, fibrinogen, platelet aggregation rate, and hematocrit dropped markedly after treatment ( P ＜ 0.05 ), but the treatment group changed more than the control group ( P ＜ 0.05 ). Conclusions Shuxuening injection can improve the hemorheological indices of patients with cerebral embolism, increase blood supply to brain tissue and improve nerve function.
