Meta-analysis of the effect of anti-depression therapy in patients with hypertension and depression

Abstract：Objective To study the efficacy of anti-depression therapy in patients with hypertension and depression and to find the optimized treatment protocol. Methods The efficacy of anti-depression therapy in patients with hypertension and depression were comprehensively evaluated with meta-analysis in homogeneity tests and combined tests in 20 studies. Results Seventy six trials were collected ,20 trials involving 1783 patients were included.Combined OR of efficient rate of 14 trials was 2.85 and its 95% confidence interval(CI)was [95% CI 2.17 ～3.73],and based on 11 trials weighted mean difference(WMD)of systolic blood pressure was -1.13[95% CI -1.67～0.58],WMD of diastolic blood pressure was -1.17[95% CI-1.87 ～ -0.46]. Conclusion Anti-depression therapy has a promising effect in treating hypertension patient with depression.
