Abstract:Objective To observe the anti-aging effects of Danshenduofensuanyan (DSF) on rat. Methods One hundred healthy wistar rats were applied in this study and divided into 5 groups: normal group, aging model group, positive contrast (vitamin E 200 mg/kg) group, two DSF groups with the dose of 30 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg.Each group had 20 rats. Aging model rats were injected with 5.0% D-galactose. The content of MDA and the apoptotic index of purkinje cells in brains of aged rats were observed. Results Compared with the aging group, there was a significant decrease (P<0.01) in SOD activities and apoptotic index of purkinje cells in the normal group, meanwhile an increase in the content of MDA was observed ( P < 0. 01 ). The difference of the effects between DSF group with the dose of 30 mg/Kg and Vitamin E 200 mg/Kg group was not insignificant (P > 0.05), but the difference of the effects between DSF group with the dose of 15 mg/Kg and the former two groups were significant (P <0. 05). Conclusion DSF has the anti-aging effect in brain of aged rat.
