Abstract:Objective To the use of antibacterials in the emergency department of ShouGang hospital with drug utilization index (DUI) and average treated day(ATD). Methods Daily doses(DDDS), DUI and ATD were used to evaluate the rationality of the antibiotics use. Totally, 19 547 prescriptions were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among 19 547 prescriptions, there were totally 7478 prescriptions (64.4%) had oral antibacterials. 4138(35.6%) prescriptions had injective antibacterials. In injective antibacterials, 12 prescriptions (85.7%) had DUI ≤1 and 2 prescriptions (14.3%) had DUI above 1. In oral antibacterials, 8 kinds (80.0%)had DUI≤I and 2 kinds(20.0% ) had DUI above 1.14 kinds( 100.0% ) of injective antibacterials had ATD less than 3 days. 7 kinds ( 70.0% ) of oral antibacterials had ATD < 7 days and 3 kinds had ATD > 7 days. Conclusion Application of antibacterials in ShouGang Hospital is overall rational.
