Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of seretide plus montelukast on patients with cough va-riant asthma. Methods Fifty patients with cough variant asthma were randomly divided into two groups: Monte-lukast group and combined treatment group. Montelukast group was treated with montelukast at a dose of 10 mg quaque nocte for 8 weeks. Combined treatment group was treated with seretide at a dose of 50 μg/250 μg. Twice ane day. Montelukast was administrated orally at a dose of 10mg quaque nocte for 8 weeks. The total inflammatory cells and EOS percent in induced sputum before and after treatment were observed in the two groups. Results The clinical cough symptom(total effective rate of montelukast group was 82%, total effective rate of combined treatment group was 94% ) and pulmonary function (FEV_1, predicted FEV_1 and FEV_1/FVC) were improved significantly. Both the clinical effect and pulmonary function after treatment were improved significantly in the two groups (P< 0.05). The inflammatory cells in the induced sputum was also obviously decreased(P<0.05). The curative effect of combined treatment group was higher than that in montelukast group. Conclusion The clinical effect of seretide plus montelukast on patients with cough variant asthma is promising.
