Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect and safety of ropivacaine mesylate tumescent anesthesia in outpatient operation. Methods Totally 520 outpatient operations were performed under tumescent(0.894% Ropiv-acaine mesylate 25 ml +0. 1% Epinephrine 0.5 ml +0.9% NS 375 ml). Peri-operative pain was recorded and the safety was reviewed retrospectively. Results A mean analogic score of 0. 8 (range 0~2.9) during operation was obtained. All patients tolerated well under ropivacaine mesylate tumescent anesthesia. A mean analogic score on the 1st day after surgery was 0.6(range 0~2.8) and post operative analgesia was good. There was no complication and no operative mortality. All patients could move freely soon after the surgery. Conclusions Outpatient operation un-der ropivacaine mesylate tumescent anesthesia is well tolerated and associated with a low risk of complications and low cost which can be recommended for outpatients.
