Gastric myoelectric activity and gastric motor function in elderly patients with convalescence cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the relation between gastric myoelectric activity and gastric motor func-tion in the old patients with convalescence cerebral infarction. Methods Gastric emptying fraction was measured in the old patients with cerebral infarction. Gastric myoelectric activity was recorded by cutaneous EGG to check the rate of gastric myoelectric arrhythmias in the old cerebral infarction patients. Results On the 7th day, the old convales-cence cerebral infarction patients showed significantly delayed gastric emptying fraction. There was also abnormal gas-tric myoelectric activity in the old convalescence cerebral infarction patients. Conclusions The delayed gastric emp-tying fraction and the abnormal gastric myoelectric activity can be observed in elderly convalescence cerebral infarction patients.
