Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effects of the hyperthermic peritoneal perfusion chemotherapy (HIPEC)combined with venous chemothempy for low rectal cancer after anal sphincter preserving operation. Methods Eighty-nine cases of low rectal cancer after anal sphincter preserving operation were randomly divided into experimental group(n=44)and control group(n=45).HIPEC was used four times, then the FOLFOX6 chemotherapy plan was carried out monthly for six months in experimental group. The control group was given FOLFOX6 chemothempy plan for six months only. The 2-year local recurrent rate was compared between the two groups. Results There were no severe complications occulted in two groups. The 2-year local recurrent rate in experimental group was 12.2%and was 37.5%in control group. The variation of 2-year local recurrent rote between the two groups achieved statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion HIPEC combined with venous chemotherapy can reduce the 2-year local recurrent rate of low rectal cancer after anal sphincter preserving operation.
