Determination of promethazine hydrochloride in compound promethazine syrup by secondary derivative spectrophotometry

Abstract：Objective To determine the quantity of compound Promethazine Syrup without any separation bv ultraviolet spectrophotometry(UV).Methods A secondary derivative spectrophotometry was used and the detection wavelength was at 256 nm.Results The linear ranges was 5.21～31.26 μg/ml,r=1.0000,the average recover was 101.10% for the determination of promethazine hydrochloride in compound promethazine syrup.RSD=0.98%.Conclusion Secondary derivative spectrophotometry is sensitive,rapid and accurate.
