Abstract:Objective To explore the significance of monitoring of intra-abdominal pressure(IAP) in patients with multiple trauma combined with closed abdominal trauma(MTCAT). Methods According to injury severity Score(ISS),patients with MTCAT were divided into two group: severe and mild group levels of IAP and mortality were compared between two groups.MODS score , incidence of organ dysfunction and mortality were compared between two groups. Results Both the levels of IAP after admission and the mortality were significantly higher in the severe MTCAT group than those of control group(P<0.05).The MODS Scores, incidence of organ dysfunction and mortality in severe MTCAT group were significantly higher than those of the mild MTCAT group. Conclusion Increased IAP may suggest serious severity and bad prognosis in MTCAT patients.Monitoring of IAP may be helpful to evaluate the severity and prognosis in MTCAT patients.
