Changes of BCSG1'level after neoadjuvant chemotheraphy or radiotheraphy in patients of breast cancer
Abstract:Objective To detect the expression of breast cancer special gene 1 (BCSG1) in breast tissue be-fore and after neoadjuvant chemotberaphy or radiotheraphy and to evaluate the significance of BCSG1 in therapies of breast cancer. Methods The expression of BCSG1 mRNA was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in surgical specimens of 70 breast cancer patients before and after neoadjuvant chemotheraphy or radiotheraphy. Results BCSG1 mRNA was detected in 59 of 70 breast cancer specimens. There was a significant difference before and after neoadjuvant chemotheraphy or radiotheraphy. Conclusion The gene of BCSG1 is affect-ed significantly by neoadjuvant chemotheraphy or radiotheraphy and may be a useful marker of breast cancer.
