Expression of interleukin-8 and it relation with clinicopathological features in hepatocellular carcinoma
Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation among serum levels of interleukin-8(IL-8) and clini-copathological features in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods The serum IL-8 concentrations were detected by ELISA in 60 HCC patients,50 chronic hepatitis with HBsAg positive and 50 healthy controls. Results The ser-um concentrations of IL-8 were 0. 1066 μg/L,0.736 μg/L and 0.356 μg/L in the HCC, hepatitis patients and nor-mal controls. The serum levels of IL-8 were significantly higher in HCC than in those chronic hepatitis with HBsAg positive and healthy controls. Conclusion The serum level of IL-8 is related to stages, tumor sizes, metastasis sta-tus and degree of tissue differentiation in patients with HCC. The results indicate that IL-8 may be related to the growth and metastasis of HCC.
