Four-Valiant Decoction for Well-Being with additional integrants for treating rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of Four-Valiant Decoction for Well-Being with additional inte-grants on rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Sixty patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the con-trol group. Treatment group was treated for six months with Four-Valiant Decoction for Well-Being with additional in-tegrants and control group was given Glucosidorum Tripterygll Totorum,respectively. The curative effect was evalua-ted,and the level of IL-6 and IL-18 were measured before treatment and six months after treatment. Results The total effective rate in the treatment group was 93.3% and that in the control group was 73.3%. There was a signifi-cant difference between both groups (P <0.01 ). After six months of treatment, the levels of IL-6 and IL-18 in the treatment group significantly changed(P <0.01 ). No obvious adverse reaction occurred in both groups. Conclusion Four-Valiant Decoction for Well-Being with additional integrants in treating RA is an effective and safe therapy, showing a better outcome than Glucosidorum Tripterygll Totorum treatment via changing levels of IL-6 and IL-18 which improve the function of RA patients.
