A survey of quality of life of spouse of patients who underwent maintenance hemodialysis

Abstract：Objective To observe the quality of life of spouse of patients undergoing maintenance bemedialysis. Methods A total of 94 spouses of patients who underwent maintenance hemodialysis and 60 married normal people were evaluated. Results Indexes includ the general quality of life, physical function, affection function, mental function , social function, mental status and material life of spouse of patient were worse than those of control group(P <0.01 or P <0.05) ,particularly in male spouse(P <0.01or P <0. 05). However physical function and material life between female and male were not significant(P>0.05). Conclusion The quality of life of spouses of patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis is worse than that of normal control group, particularly in female spouse.
