Abstract:Objective To observe clinical effect of aminophylline on restoration of cardiac electrical activity and spontaneous circulation at the beginning of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR). Methods Sixty-two cases of cardiac arrest were randomized into two groups. The control group with 30 patients was given conventional CPR. The treatment group of 32 cases was injected aminophylline 0.5 g at the first time plus CPR, and then given 0.25 g after 3 to 5 minutes with a total quantity less than 1.0 g. ECG, heart sounds, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SpaO2) were recorded. Results Cardiac electrical activity restoration was 12 (40.0%)and 23 (71.9%) respectively in 2 groups(P<0.05). Restoration of spontaneous circulation numbers was 10 (33.3%) and 21 (65.6%) respectively ( P < 0.05 ). Recovery timeof cardiac electrical activity and spontaneous circulation in 2 groups showed significant difference (P < 0. 05). Conclusion Aminophylline helps restore cardiac electrical activity and spontaneous circulation at the beginning of CPR. It may improve successful ratio of cardiac recovery.
