Choice of operation methods on seminal vesicle carcinoma

Abstract：Objective To observed the operation methods for primary malignant seminal vesicle tumor. Methods Five cases of primary malignant seminal vesicle tumor in our hospital was collected and related articles were reviewed. Patients were followed up after operations. Results Two cases had resection of bladder, prostate, seminal vesicle and rectum, among them l case had recurrence and died after two years of the operation ; three cases had seminal vesicle, partial bladder and prostate resection, among them 1 case had recurrence and metastasis and another case died of other disease after three years of surgery. Conclusion Operation is the main therapy of primary malignant seminal vesicle tumor. According to the range of tumor and the involvement of the adjacent organs, different operation methods can be applied. The primary malignant seminal vesicle tumor shows subtle symptoms at early stage and mostly is discovered at advanced stage, which affects the operation effect.
